UCF Debate is Back

Back when UCF used to be known as Florida Technological University, the school had a team that excelled in debate.
After a long disappearance UCF Debate is back. The director of the debate team is Nicholson School of Communication Instructor Sydne Kasle.

On Feb.11 UCF's first debaters were honored during a ceremony in the Fairwinds Alumni Center. Original debaters included Ed Foster, Richard Millian, Richard Bloomquist, Glen Padgett, Tom Marcinko and Mike Buchanan. Along with their debate coach, Associate Professor Jeff Butler.
A college invitational tournament is Saturday, Feb. 12, and Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Nicholson School of Communication building. UCF’s team will compete against debaters from the University of Florida, University of Miami, Monmouth University and Appalachian State University.
All UCF undergraduates are welcome to join the team. Meetings are held every Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in room 254 of the Nicholson School of Communication.
